Enhancing the Outdoor Living Experience at High Beach

Enhancing the Outdoor Living Experience at High Beach

We’re always looking for thoughtful ways to keep High Beach feeling fresh, well cared for and truly relaxing — and this spring we’ve been giving the garden a little extra attention.

The garden has always been an important part of the High Beach experience — a private outdoor space to unwind after time on Berrow Beach, enjoy the fresh sea air, and relax in the hot tub at the end of the day.

What began as plans to install a simple new hedge quickly evolved into something more considered.

Inspired by a Visit to Winrow Plants

After visiting Winrow Plants, we couldn’t resist some beautiful specimens — including Acacia Melanoxylon, Acacia Dealbata, Callistemon ‘Hot Pink’ and Griselinia Littoralis.

Originally, we were simply looking to create a clean boundary hedge. But after seeing the quality and character of these plants, the idea grew into a more layered planting scheme designed to add structure, seasonal colour and increased privacy for guests.

More Privacy, Atmosphere and Evening Ambience

The new planting provides improved screening along the fence line while softening the edges of the garden and creating a greener, more sheltered feel — especially welcome during breezier coastal evenings.

Alongside the planting, we’ve also upgraded the outdoor lighting to create a softer atmosphere after sunset.

Whether it’s summer BBQ evenings, children playing safely on the lawn, or relaxed hot tub nights under the Somerset sky, the aim is simple: to make the outdoor space feel calm, inviting and well designed.

Continually Improving High Beach for Our Guests

Guests choose High Beach for the comfort, space and location — just 300 metres from seven miles of sand stretching from Burnham-on-Sea through Berrow to Brean. These garden enhancements are part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the property feeling special throughout the year.

We’re looking forward to seeing the planting establish over the coming months and welcoming guests to enjoy the refreshed outdoor setting.

If you’re planning a coastal break — whether a summer holiday, autumn escape or winter stay by the sea — you can explore High Beach here.
